Mapping the Realms

The Forgotten Realms Atlas Project is a cartography venture with the ultimate goal of providing digital maps of every region of Toril for players and DMs to use in their games and creations. Toril is filled with vast regions that make up multiple settings within the D&D universe. Faerun is surrounded by the eastern realm of Kara-Tur, Zakhara – the arabian lands of Al-Qadim, and the empire of Maztica – whose cultures mirror those of the ancient Mayans and Aztecs. Each digital map is high resolution, detailing the latest iterations of geography and cities available for any Forgotten Realms campaign.

Pioneering the Unexplored

In addition to existing maps, cartography will be provided for the lands of Revonar and Dari Sinora. These are newly created regions known as the Sundered Realms, spanning the northwest portion of the continent of Anchororme. These lands are rumored to be the place of origin for ancient races long extinct. The cultures are a blend of Norse and Aboriginal peoples. The Ultimate Goal

While the primary goal is to map the world of Toril, it is my hope that others will use these maps to add their own stories and adventures. Eventually after the maps are complete, I’ll be putting together a world journal from a sage’s perspective detailing the history and recent events of these lands. Though the eventual finished product is a work in progress, the final content will be decided by those who participate.

Forgotten Realms Atlas Project Book One

This volume focuses primarily on northern and western Faerun, detailing the Great Glacier, Anauroch, the Savage Frontier, the Dalelands, the Sword Coast, and the islands of Moonshae. This is the first of three volumes that make up the lands of Faerun. Available for purchase on the Dungeon Master’s Guild website.

Forgotten Realms Atlas Project Book Two

This volume details the jungles of Chult, the Intrigue Lands of Amn and Chessenta, the halfling land of Luiren and the Shaar, the Old Empire of Mulhorand and Unther, and the lost island nations of Lantan and Nimbral. This is the second of three volumes that make up the lands of Faerun. Available for purchase on the Dungeon Master’s Guild website.
